This place is an icon for Ocean Walk and for Daytona Beach. Fun atmosphere for our family. The food was tasty and the service is good too. Great view. A fun area to walk around.

Bubba Gump shrimp company is great! We went there the other day and I was so happy to see that they have a completely gluten free menu available! Excellent service and the food was amazing. They even have dessert options on the gluten free menu which other gfers know is hard to find! I totally recommend this for other gluten intolerant and celiac people.

Took our family of 10 to Bubba Gumps while we were on vacation. We had 5 adults, a 16 year old, a 7 year old, a 3 year old, a 1 year old and an infant. The menu is over priced. Our meal was $201.00 and the food was the worst we ever ate. Not one thing was good. We all left there starving. Not a very good menu selection. The food was so tasteless. I don't mind spending good money for good food but I was sick to know I spent that much money for nothing. I would never recommend or go back to Bubba Gumps again.

shrimp shrimp and more shrimp:) Great service and drinks too.

Wow i had the bourbon fish. It was so delicious, I almost thought I was eating chicken. Great location with a great view to the beach. The drinks are not so good, they let you keep the cup if you order the frozen drinks which makes a great souvenir, we all loved the Forest Gump movie.

I had a real good time at Bubba Gump. I was impressed with the friendly and quick staff, excellent job. Food was real good, stick with anything that has shrimp in it and you can't go wrong. I had a specialty drink that tasted like pure sugar and no booze. Lame beer selection. My advice is to order one or more of the 1 1/2 lbs of cajun shrimp from the appetizer menu because it was better then most of the entrees. Do not order any of the specialty drinks. Watch Forrest Gump before you go.

Food was fabulous, service was friendly and excellent. It is their busy season so we did have to wait but not long. They were also able to EASILY accommodate my husband who has celiac and needs a gluten-free diet. Kids liked it too. Brush up on your Forest trivia before you go! Run Forest run!

  • Tim H.

Staff was great. Sea food is mostly shrimp would be great to have more fresh seafood options.

  • Gabriel S.

Great fresh fish. The server we had was great. You can sit out and view the ocean. It is a very nice place. nice staff and good food. There were these fun little birds that kept running under out feet outside it was a really fun lunch.

Decent food for tourists. That is about it.

It's great that Bubba spent his life around shrimp. They really do their shrimp right here. I don't think I have eaten shrimp dishes as good as the ones I ate here. The flavors really complemented each other nicely and the service was good. Don't forget to look at their dessert menu. We ordered this one ( s3-media3.px.yelpcdn.com… ) and it was heavenly.

Met some friends here for lunch. Because we called ahead - they charged us a "banquet fee"!!!!! Guess they don't want repeat business. I won't be back because of the policy of charging us to eat here. Plenty of other places don't charge me extra just to sit down. Food was OK. But $123 for 4 for lunch? (One cocktail, one appetizer, and three lunches cause we split one and 3 ice teas). Too much. Then this additional charge? Outrageous. Won't be back.

  • Julie A.

I have been to 5 of these and have yet to find anything I love. Their fried fare is probably the best bet. I have big fans of the movie in my family so they like answering the trivia and looking at all the memorabilia. So go there for that and the fancy drinks. Not the food...

Delicious! The wait stinks (you know how these touristy places get), but the food is really good. I had the New Orleans Shrimp - spicy sauce, grilled shrimp with jasmine rice - and it left me with my mouth on fire, but totally satisfied! Other winning dishes that I was able to get a nibble from included the coconut shrimp, shrimp scampi, and jambalya shrimp (I feel like Bubba Gump right now). My sis in law had the crab stuffed shrimp, and she said it was awesome. She's even looking to visit our local Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Miami! The service was good - the waitress had all this Forrest Gump trivia she was shooting at us whenever she came by. I'm happy to say I am fairly well versed in my 90's movies, so I did kick butt at my table! The atmosphere was okay too - lively and buzzing - just like I like it! The best part was watching the fireworks show from our table outside. I don't think it's an all year thing, but they do have it frequently. So yeah, come here if you're in the 'hood!

I was looking forward for some time to finally eat here, but was very dissatisfied!!!!! To start off, no host or hostess took the lead to help us get seated or on any kind of list. We kind of awkardly stood around untill finally I went out of my way and asked a server how to get a table there. Upon finally sitting down, we had a waitor who I could see had a table walk out on him. Upon, that happening he came to our table with a horrible attitude that just soured the whole night! I could see him in the distance and read his lips as profanity was coming out. I did not think this was fair to us to have to go through. Food was average at best, I heard the mac and cheese was to die for but to me had way too much garlic in it!!!!!! Only positive thing was the frozen lemonade!

  • Brenda S.

Food was mediocre. Service was friendly. Prices decent for the location. Fun atmosphere. Loved the decor since Forrest Gump is a favorite movie! The kids liked their chicken fingers and fries. Ate outside which was nice. I had a shrimp cocktail, shrimp was tough. Daughter had a shrimp platter which was just ok. Nothing special. The coconut shrimp was over done to the place it didn't taste good and one was left one on the plate. You would think the shrimp would be perfect if that's their specialty? The hush puppies were excellent so I was told. Had shrimp and fish in them. Not much gluten free on the menu. Would probably come back for the Mango Mojito though. Very refreshing!

This place was pretty quick and easy to get into. It is right next to the Ocean Walk Shoppes. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the nice beach breeze. The cleanliness wasn't up to par for me, but it wasn't nasty by any means. The staff spoke quickly and were always bustling around. I liked that service came quickly when you were ready to order. Your alcoholic drinks came with a free souvenir glass and the drinks came pretty strong. I had the stuffed shrimp which were lacking in flavor a bit, but had a nice texture. I also had some of the Louisiana Shrimp dish, which I think is by far my favorite. It had a nice spice and flavor. The sauce served under it was rich and tasty. The grilled shrimp skewers with vegetables also came with a excellent sauce that we dipped everything in. This place is a tourist spot and isn't bad at all. Give it a try.

I guess my review made someone mad because this is a note that Michelle C just sent me. "Michelle C. Daytona Beach, FL Send Message For your review of: Bubba Gump Shrimp Co You must have not paid attention to exactly what that hostess was explaining to you before you go writing a bad review.. the "certificate used to bypass other people" you're speaking of is called a LANDRYS CLUB CARD and anyone thats joins as a member is automatically BUMPED into SAVED slots on the wait for MEMBERS! Maybe before you go taking statements out of context you should know the facts and thats 25.00 you spend to become a member is loaded on a card for you to use at your NEXT VISIT!" Thanks for the note Michelle, If I could change it to zero stars I would. I'm sure your hostess was very busy that night but she explained it the exact way I wrote in my review.

I've been to the Bubba Gump's at Mall of America & had quicker service. Both locations are equally busy. This location (Daytona Beach) was more well staffed, but the food took longer. The food was ok. I had a standard salad that didn't have a wow factor. My husband had a shrimp kabob dish that was pretty good. Their kids menu isn't what I expected either (typical chicken fingers & other fried unhealthy items). They offer kids pasta with the option to get a side of veggies. I had to pay $5.99 to get grilled shrimp for my daughter's pasta. The sauce is for an adult palate though. Needless to say my daughter wasn't too thrilled. Expect to spend more for mediocre here.

  • Missy S.

Tourist trap restaurant. Prices are high for what you get and the food is mediocre. Plus the waiter decided to quiz me on the forrest gump movie--like dont bug me, just let me enjoy my beer and the sunshine. Felt like I was in a theme park. No interest in returning.

    (2)
  • Ma H.

For a tourist spot, this was pretty good. Loved the beer boiled shrimp appetizer, and the mahi entree was good too. Next time, I'll steer clear of the fried food--a lil too much breading for my taste.

  • Thomas M.

We had lunch here today, large menu, and full service bar too! Jaime, our server was very nice, and helpful! Gave us a Bubba Gump quiz to entertain us while waiting for our food! We're going back for dinner tonight!

Food was real good. Yummy adult beverages for the adults and kids had fun. Romeo our waiter was AWESOME!!! Service was great from everyone else as well.

It's a nice place right of the beach. My friends and I ate there a couple of days ago and we enjoyed the food as well as the service. Make sure you brush up on your Forrest Gump trivia.

Lunch with my sisters from out of town. They enjoyed the atmosphere. Being from Orlando we are used to it. They enjoyed the seafood. Average for us. Recommend it for visitors and those that like tourist atmosphere. Food was good. Service very good.

Back on October 24th, 2013, me and a very large group of registered nursing students attended a nursing convention at the Hilton next door. We went to Bubba Gump's for some lunch. The service absolutely sucked. I mean, seriously. It took them AN HOUR to get our food out to us. Even then, the food was either cold or overcooked. The manager on duty NEVER came out to apologize. NOTHING was reduced/deduced from our bills. I got an email from the manager of the location and even talked to him on the phone about the experience. The best he could say was that he, "would try to get us some gift cards," but he, "couldn't guarantee anything." Well, needless to say, we never got a single gift card even though he admitted that our bad experience was all his fault. Thus, he guaranteed none of us would EVER want to go to a Bubba Gump location ever again.

12 of us had lunch and were amazed at the quality of the food, Horace was our server and he did a fantastic job, handling our every need, and smoothly divied up each check for each person, his knowledge of the movie was incredible and when we come again, we hope to have him as our server, great job! Great food!

Decent food but way overpriced. If I were choosing the restaurant for a group of Forrest Gump fans then maybe I'd come back?

We were heading to the Daytona 500 from Seattle, so I checked out Yelp to see what was good in the area near where we staying at on the beach. And looking at the reviews I decided to give Bubba Gump Shrimp Co a try. Sure glad we went there! I'm usually not a chain or theme restaurant type of eater, but dang - this food was awesome, so good we came back the next night as well. Very delicious food and the service was excellent with super friendly (in a genuine manner) and the service was fast. The drinks came fast too, which was much needed. We liked our server Calle so much - that we requested her again the second visit as well. She was perfect in every way possible for our time there. And this is what we ate and I highly recommend: ***** Lt. Dan's Drunken Shrimp - "Large chargrilled Shrimp and Andouille Sausage with Mashed Potatoes and Bourbon Sauce". ***** Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi - "Charbroiled Cajun spiced Mahi Mahi with Bourbon Sauce and grilled Shrimp, served over Mashed Potatoes". *** Seafood Hush Pups - "Not quite Hush Puppies - we make 'em better! Tasty Shrimp and Fish with golden Corn, deep fried and served with a Remoulade Dippin' Sauce". Is this place a little pricey? Yes, but we're on vacation spending thousands of dollar to be paid someday in the future - so we don't care about that, just that the food and service were worth our time there. 5 stars! Went to Bubba Gumps before the movie. Had a mushroom veggie burger trying to be healthy for a change and it was great. Tasted a lot like a real burger. I would definitely get it again.

Walked in not knowing what to expect other than knowing they had a lot of shrimp on the menu. The theme was fun. Forest gump was their life. I ordered the fishwich and it was awesome. My girlfriend had the pasta but didn't have it with shrimp but chicken. The pasta was not cooked and the chicken was over cooked and chewy. Horrible. They were very nice and gave her something else and it was perfect and charged her for a small side. All the servers seemed awesome. Overall descent experience but not worth the price. Easy access and right on beach. Great service and super fast!

  • Brenda B.

After waiting over an hour for a table that they said would take 45 minutes and checking back with them several times to see where we were on the list, we were told that they had called our name. We were in their bar and they did not bother to call names in the bar! We saw a table that was empty for 20 minutes. Think they need to look at their system for seating guests. Food was good and server did a great job. Just an unfortunate start to our evening.

Good Place. No beach or water view. Server was good. Food was good. Pricy for the type of environment.

Personally not a big fan of chain restaurants but my multiple visits at the BGSC at Daytona Beach has pleasantly surprised me. I always ordered ahead and picked up my order from the bar. Their barkeeper Bobby is a hoot. He is really funny and friendly and on one occasion when my wait time was tad long he entertained me and rest of the people on the bar with anecdotes, riddle and Forest Gump quiz. The mojito they serve is a tad too sweet for taste but Margaritas are great and amongst the entrees my favorite ones were fish and chips, popcorn shrimp, broiled tilapia over mashed potato topped with lobster cream sauce and the pear salad ( order the one with shrimp, chicken breasts they serve are seriously sad). I will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Daytona Beach, be warned though that without prior reservation you will waiting in a l-o-n-g queue in high seasons.

A fun and delicious place to go at the pier/ocean walk area in Daytona. I usually get the Salmon and Veggie skillet but have had many items and they have all been good. The staff is great and the "Stop Forest" sign that you can put on your table will stop any of the servers quickly and they always help. Great Idea BTW, I wish I had those signs at other restaurants. Although I have not seen the movie I can usually answer all of the questions just from frequenting this and other Bubba Gumps. It is a fun atmosphere and will return. I found the toughest questions from the bartender at Universal City walk BTW.

Outside dining next to the beach with a reminder of a movie that I did not realized have not seen in over a decade ago and chasing away pigeons was the overall experience. I had a grilled shrimp salad over mixed greens. The salad was pretty good, but I left hungry. The bill was 50 bucks for two adults and a teenager that ordered popcorn shrimp and nobody had alcohol. I went back to the condo and ate a sandwich on the balcony while looking at an unobstructed view of the ocean. The taste, staff and location (even with obstructed view and pigeons) were all good, but not the best value.

  • Amanda C.

I thought coming here it would be like any other seafood franchise but it wasn't. It wasn't the best seafood I have had in my life but the food, staff and location make it really great. Had the spinach dip to start which was wonderful then fried shrimp and the shrimp BLT salad and both were done very well. I would go back but I wouldn't crave it.

  • Tracy F.

I thought the food and service was very good. The staff was very friendly and made some good recommendations on the menu. It was a little pricy, but not horrible. I would definitely go back here.

  • Bryan B.

For the most part I like Bubba Gump and have been going for years. but little by little its becoming a bit of a let down Menu no longer includes the 'shrimp dippin broth'. The fish and chips is now made with "hoki" (blue grenadier) instead of mahi. The calamari appetizer is a very small portion The service is always good. just seems like they are cutting corners. which seems unnecessary being that there is often a wait to get in (waited 40 mins on a friday night which isn't too bad - could be worse or much better depending on time of the year and day of the week) I'll be back, but I'm in no big hurry.

  • Jessica J.

I had fun here! The atmosphere is lively and the menu is interesting and varied. There is something for everyone. The staff was great and the servers give you fun quizzes on Bubba Gump. This place is a big draw for tourists. Consequently, it seems a bit overpriced to me. And I really didn't enjoy the fries. In fact, I have had better seafood. But come with a group, relax and have a good time. If your goal is top of the line seafood, this really isn't the place for you.

Had a late dinner there with the family...it was surprisingly dead for a Saturday night! Then again, it is Daytona beach! :) Food: - shrimp/lobster bisque was no good. DO NOT order it! - shrimp bubbling pot dish was good. ask for more french bread! the jasmine rice was a joke. stick to the bread. - key lime pie was a tad bit sweet...but always good. Service: - waiter was very attentive to the sign (run forrest run, stop forrest stop) - waiter kept checking on us...then again, my parents had the deer in headlights look Tip-bits: Park in the multi-story garage across the street. Overpass on the 2nd floor, restaurant's on the first

Love the food and drinks at this place. Make sure to bring your wallet cause this place will definitely set you back. It can get a tad pricey, especially if you order drinks. However, if you order one of their specialty drinks you may get to take a nice glass souvenir glass home with you. Definitely a plus. If you're a fan of shrimp, you'll love this place. I got to go twice over the past weekend. Their shrimp skewers are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them especially if you want to be a bit healthier. Their alcoholic lemonade is also incredibly delicious. I'm also a fan of the raspberry sweet tea vodka. Definitely a yummy place to go for dinner but get there early on the weekends or you'll be waiting.

  • Kelly C.

As bad as I wanted to give this place 4 stars for being a little pricey and touristy, I just couldn't because the food was amazing. We had the chips and dip appetizer and it was great, Then my husband ate the salmon with rice and veggies and it was great. I tried the Chicken breast with the homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend. The service was great too and nice.

Went here with my sister and had really good food. I got coconut shrimp and my sister had fried mahi mahi. We both liked our food a lot. Our waiter was really nice and pretty funny. My sister cracked me up when she asked me why everything there was about forest gump. I guess she didn't understand the concept of a theme restaurant.

This Bubba location is very well rated in Daytona Beach. The location is awesome, especially when there is an event at the adjacent plaza which was the case during that visit. The terrace table worked out great to enjoy the show. We had the Cajun shrimps and the signature fish with the bourbon sauce. The combination was awesome and we had a blast. It sucked that they brought the entree only 10 minutes through the meal. We had barely started with the appetizer. That was annoying.

  • Catherine A.

had a cookie sundae - it was ok...i must say the app's flying past us looked amazing. The wait seemed pretty long (like 2.5 hrs long) but I grabbed a spot at the bar. Bartenders are young and super friendly.

This was the first time that I have ever had Bubba Gump's, and unfortunately at this one, I was not impressed. They sat my group and forgot about us- finally we got our drinks. Appetizers were pretty skimpy and not too good. Finally when they brought the food, the food carrier girl, think her name was Stacey, was a bitch and snappy. The food was just ok- nothing too special. Hell, one in our party had to stop two miles away and puke. That should tell you about the food! Overall, just ok- nothing to write home about.

We were in Dayton on vacation and was looking for a place to eat. My daughter wanted to try Bubba Gumps as she has the movie memorized and had heard they quiz you on Forrest Gump movie facts. They did and she gave back answers and quickly as they asked. We had about an hour and a half wait on a Saturday night. The food was pretty good. I got the shrimp heaven meal. The shrimp was good, but the shrimp we had at Carribean Jack's the night before was much better and actually less expensive. The decor is odd. Almost antique garage like. The chairs don't match. It was a fun time though. We had to come home and watch the movie so that my 13 year old daughter would understand Forrest Gump. Was fun to do once.

Went with Wife and 8mo child for lunch. Was not crowded and seated right away. Found the inside AC to be entirely to cold but they had no problem moving us outside immediately. I love shrimp and started with the 3/4 lb Shrimpers net catch (half garlic half cajun) and LOVED it! My entree was the Texas cajun chicken sandwich and I throughly enjoyed this as well. My wife ate a plain hamburger and had a mixed drink that she really enjoyed. I found the host and every waiter/waitress very friendly and eager to help. All in all I had the best experience here during my vacation and look forward to returning again.

We love Bubba Gump's. It is fun for the adults and for the kiddos. The food is always good, not great, but it is a chain. Service was awesome for our large party of 12 and our server was hilarious! We will continue to go back every year!

I've eaten at Bubba Gump's twice. The first time, the food was pretty good, nothing to write home about, but I enjoyed the atmosphere....and it was several years ago. So, we decided to go back on our "date night". It was over an hour wait for a table, so we took a stroll on the beach, and then went next door for a cocktail while we waited. We were finally seated at an incredibly small table for two in the small front room which was loaded with children under 2. Fun times were ahead. I ordered the coconut shrimp, which was awful. The shrimp was tough and the breading was thick and tasteless. I don't remember the name of the dish my husband ordered, but it was some sort of cajun dish with shrimp and sausage. He enjoyed his meal. I'm sure there are yummy dishes on the menu, just not the coconut shrimp, and whatever you do, don't order any of their drinks, unless it's wine or beer. $10 for a glass of water is basically what you'll end up with. Our waiter was nice.......but not nice enough to get us back there again. I'm sure they're not worried, though. Bubba Gump's thrives on the tourists who will be gone in a week anyway.

My wife and I decided to give this a try tonight because we are Landry's Club members. When we first arrived we had a small incident with the host but that was quickly recovered for by the manager and by the EXCELLENT service of Walker. From the moment Walker came to the table he was very friendly, funny, and attentive. I was wanting a fish entree and he recommended the Bourbon Mahi Mahi, I believe it was. My wife ordered the crab legs. I will have to say that the fish was cooked nicely but I was not a huge fan of the heavy Cajun seasoning on it. That's a personal preference. My wife's crab legs were very good. You really didn't even need to dip them in the drawn butter. We also had the spinach dip as an appetizer, it was nice and a slice of key lime pie for dessert. The pie had a very smooth flavor, not too sweet or tart. The crust was amazing! My wife was adamant that it was homemade. Maybe so, . I gave five stars mostly because of the service we received from Walker. The food would be 4 star. Despite the small little bump at first it turned out to be a great experience.

Went here with a party of 7 (3 children included). Waited quite 45 min to be seated and it was chaos. Drinks were watery, we sent them all back and got bottled goods (wine and beer). Even "nectar" drink with no alcohol was watery. Portions were OK but over all the price was very high for what we received. No extras for sure. We spent over $200 with tip and had a bunch of sharing going on and did not get charged for drinks. The manager was also a good guy and per Walker's recommendation, threw in two large deserts. While nobody else suffered from indigestion, it was a lousy night for me after eating there. I have a cast iron stomach so go figure. Waiter Walker rocked and we tipped him very well. Told him not to split it with the bartender. All in all, awesome waiter, very accommodating manager, drinks awful, food overpriced and quality just "ok". Bearing in mind we went out for dinner the next night had 2 extra adults, spent a little over $100 had better food and a nicer atmosphere on the water.

I had some shrimp and sausage skewers with a bourbon dipping sauce which were really tasty. Not getting a 4 star review since the prices are a bit high though this is expected from a touristy restaurant. Good place to hit on your first night for a "vacationy" dinner.

Only o.k., $20 for a bucket of boat trash....would have been better if the shrimp & fish weren't deep fried. Great atmosphere and great theme!! Curiosity satisfied, time to move on!

I've been to other Bubba Gump locations and for the most part the food and drinks have just been average. Unfortunately this location wasn't any different. We had a party of 6 and I wasn't sure how the seating was going to work out, but we were lucky that there was no line and we were seated outside within 5 minutes. It was a nice night and you could still hear the ocean, so I didn't mind sitting outside. We ordered a whole table full of food: 3 lbs of shrimp (cajun and garlic), onion rings, spinach artichoke dip, clams and mussels, and two types of scampi. WOW! To wash it all down, we each ordered a drink that came in one of those souvenir cups to take back home. The shrimp were just OK. It's not like you couldn't buy some shrimp and boil them at home and season them with some cajun spices or some garlic butter, but it is convenient to have someone else do it for you. The dipping sauce for the onion rings were good. The clams and mussels had a handful of unopened ones which means they're no good which also meant there goes half of my dish! The drinks were not very strong at all. It made me doubt the amount of alcohol in the drinks. Luckily I ordered a beer so I knew there was at least some alcohol in my beverage. The service was really good and entertaining. The rest of my group had a great time and really enjoyed the food. I on the other hand didn't have the same experience.

  • Devon R.

I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the of the "You Peel Em" Shrimp App. It was very good with a large qty of shrimp. But the rest of the meal was by far below my standards when it comes to seafood...save yourself the touristy experience and go to Boondocks on the River side towards Ponce Inlet. WAY BETTER!

    (2)
  • Betty M.

Came here for lunch and had a salad. It was the Ying Yang Salad which was grilled shrimp over a bed of mixed greens. It also had nuts and mangos. It was really good but the mangos were a little sour. It was a little on the pricey side, but one should expect that for a Bubba Gumps on the Beachside. The drinks aren't any good however, especially for the price tag that you pay for them. You have better luck with the many bars in the area. If you are looking for something exciting, this is not the place for you, but if it's something safe, this will do.

My brother-in-law and I went in for lunch and were the first ones there. This place is a little above average in their seafood offerings, at least with what we had. I had a the Bourbon Street Mahi, which was done very nicely. The fish was cooked a little past perfect, but not as much as other places. The sauce was quite tasty, and the service was very good. I'd go again.

Like the gift shop better than the food, beer is cold and served fast. Have been to several of different locations and they are all the same frozen shrimp, but it's a cool the and service is good, so we go back. OK to do on vacation 1 every two years or so, I like to get a tee shirt and stickers and look at all the Gump stuff!

Left the restaurant next door due to a terrible hostess and went here. No Ac working in the entire complex and I understand that it was beyond their control at that point in time. We sat out back on the patio hoping for just a breeze and something to eat and drink....but the server never came to the table ! So we got up and walked back to the hotel and that was that. Not even sure why I am rating it .

For a sea food place I wasn't expecting great chicken but I was really surprised. The rest of my family eats seafood but I don't so when they pick a seafood restaurant to eat at, I'm usually prepared for just ok chicken dishes. I ordered the Mamas southern fried chicken and it was really great. The coating was super crispy but not overly greasy and the chicken was juicy and perfect. The mashed potatoes were really tasty and not overly salty and the gravy was good too. The one thing I didn't enjoy about the dish was the corn on the cob that was either cooked in spicy water somehow or had some Cajun spice on it but it was pretty spicy and I couldn't eat more than a couple bites of it. The kids meals were cute in the little boats and the little cup of Jello was cute but I wish on the menu it would have specified what the sweet treat that was included was. We would have preferred no Jello and just desserts instead of both. If my family wants to go back again I will gladly go!

I had soooo been looking forward to going here. I had heard such great things. I finally talked my dh into going, and started counting down the days. We came, expecting a wait. Yes, there was a long wait. We get seated....and my mouth is drooling over the menu selections. I chose the stuffed shrimp (Large Shrimp with Crab Stuffing, baked in Garlic Butter, and topped with Monterey Jack Cheese. Served with Jasmine Rice). Our server suggested the garlic bread....that sounded awesome. After 45 minutes, we called her over to ask for the bread...."oh, did you want that now?". Erm....yes please. That came out (2 whole slices), with our dinner right behind it. The rice was super dry, and the shrimp were tough and chewy (so they were either overcooked or precooked & frozen). Made me very sad. DH got the Bucket of Boat Trash ( Flash fried Shrimp, Fish with Cajun Spices and a steamed cluster of Snow Crab. Served with Fries). It was good....not great, but good. I was really looking forward to the great, interactive service that so many people have gushed on about. I'm still looking forward to it, because we sure didn't get it tonight. There was a waiter in the next section asking trivia questions, but we couldn't hear them. Our server just didn't interact with us at all. Actually, we had more interaction with the other servers that stopped at our table (because we had the 'stop forrest stop' sign up to get a refill or our check). Not the visit i was hoping for.

Atmosphere was on point. The staff was over the top with the perky attitude. You will be made to take a quiz about the movie before your food comes out. They will spoon feed you the answers if you don't know. I got the sampler for my dinner, and it was pretty decent, but my peel and eat shrimp where slimmy. Either frozen for to long or they were bad. The cook said they were ok, and would cook them for me, but the next dish was worst than the first.

This was my first time coming to this location. It was kinda late so it was a little slow. Our server AJ was very nick and knowledgeable of the menu both food and drinks. We had a 1 1/3 of shrimp, we got both garlic and Cajun. I prefer the garlic. And also garlic toast which my daughter loved. The entrees were ok it wasn't seasoned. It tastes very bland. Now because I always go to the one located in Orlando I know the food could be 10x better. So I will give it another try and see if it's just this location in particular.

Awesome place to eat by the beach, service is awesome and the staff is nice and the food is awesome. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado and a sauce that was a bit spicy but the sandwich was unbelievable. The staff is always taking care of you and even has trivia for you on the movie forest Gump. Very nice place to relax and enjoy food by the beach and then take a walk in the pier after. The price for the food are reasonable and portions are good. I would come back again when I am in town.

No Parking was terrible in off season with a baby so we got to see the parking lot and the restaurant on the pier but never was able to go inside!!! Very disappointed

We went there for lunch while visiting the beach. My husband had the jambalaya and was in love. My uncle and I had the fish sandwich and were very impressed! One of the best fish sandwiches I've had, great sauce on it! The environment is so fun and true to the movie. The wait staff come around and play Forrest Gump trivia to make the time pass while you wait for the food! We will definitely come back again!

Okay first of all our waiter edrian was great. You can choose to sit inside where it's nice and cool or sit outside with an ocean view. We sat outside and had the spinach and artichoke dip with nice crispy chips. The speckled lemonade comes with your choice of strawberries or blueberries. The burger had a nice char to it and was cooked to order but on average the meal is what you would expect from a chain restaurant.

Food was just okay. Portion size was a little small for the price. It was really busy the night we were there. Waitress wasn't the greatest. Had to ask several times for more butter.

Shrimp shrimp and shrimp restaurant.. Not the best sea food place but I love and crave eating here. I love there fried trash seafood dish, their boiled mix of seafood, and their stuffed shrimp. Stuffed mushrooms are also good. Bucket of shrimp in the appetizers the seasoning is awesome. However, I did not like their shrimp linguine dish.. It's a little pricy for what it is. But I still would go there again and again.

The most amazing thing I have ever eaten and it is their key lime pie! I can just eat that pie all damn day. I do not like being bug'd with trivia questions about the movie forest gump while I am eating. Food is not gourmet, but still very good. I am hooked on that pie though!!!

The food was amazing, there is no doubt about that. Love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the theme. Prices were appropriate for the amount and quality of food.

Went here for a family meal. The server we had was excellent. He fitted in with our family as if he was the brother from another mother. The food was great. Im not a big seafood eater but ill eat most things fried. So, needless to say, the fried food was great!! Service was excellent. If you drink try the southern tea mix. Doesn't taste like a long island but more of sweet tea and you can't taste the alcohol. Nice view as we sat outside with a view of the beach and the live band. Will definitely be back here when visiting Daytona again.

Good food, great service, priced a little high. It's a tourism trap but they try hard. Had LT Dan drunkin shrimp, sausage was spicy, shrimp was good, portion was a little lite. It's in a good location was the only reason we went.

My wife and I ate here while on vacation. We had been to their Orlando location and Chicago location so we knew what to expect. We had to wait 5-10 minutes which wasn't bad. But they weren't busy so I was confused about the wait. The food was ok. Nothing to really write home about. And the cost was very high for the meal. You are paying for the Forest Gump ambiance. Our server was very friendly and knew the menu well. If you aren't a fan of sea food, I'd try another restaurant. Actually, I'd probably just check out a local establishment rather than the expensive chain. Just my opinion.

Waitress was amazing. Food was great. Drinks were awesome. No complaints. Only waited 15 minutes to get seated on a Friday night.

My third time at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company was average without anything exceptionally good or bad. The food is good, consistent in quality and I took the Jambalaya home to enjoy the next day. Service was friendly but the person taking care of us seemed to forget we were there so we had to go track her down after waiting 15 minutes for her to bring the check once she had taken our dishes away. Another server was kind enough to stop by and refill drinks, get a to-go box and track our server down. The servers stop by and ask questions about the Forrest Gump movie which is cute. It's good enough to go back but next time we may sit inside rather than on the patio in hopes that service is a little faster. If you have not been it's a good meal with good ties to the movie that can be entertaining.

Very disappointing, waited an hour to receive 3 meals and other families that came in after us with larger parties received their meals before us. They weren't even busy!

Overpriced for sure. Got calamari as an appetizer which was ok, but kinda bland since the coating fell off once you picked it up. Ordered the coconut shrimp (called duck something shrimp) for$17 and it was definitely not worth of that orice. It was good, but nothing extraordinary. Service was good. Probably not a place I'd return to for the heck of it, there are better places with cheaper prices.

Love it!!! The waiter was so nice and helpful and the food was really good. I ordered a watermelon coronarita and It was awesome. I will definitely go back. The price is a little high but it's completely worth it.

I'd heard about bubba gump restaurants and I love seafood so i was keen to check it out. I ordered the bucket of boat trash and my mum got forrest's seafood feast. So glad we did, everything about it was great. The shrimp and fish were delicious and the crab was amazing, I just wish there was more meat in the crab! Our server was attentive and funny, but when it was time to get the check and pay he was nowhere to be seen..! Prices were decent for seafood, especially since it was so good. I'll be back!

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon, we would give it five stars but there was at least an hour wait before we were ever seated (granted it appeared to be a busy night). The food was delicious, who doesn't love shrimp?!?! We both ordered Forrest's Seafood Feast, which is shrimp, fries, hushpuppies, and fish and chips. This was so delicious! We would recommend check this place out, just be prepared for a long wait!

The 5 things I liked: - free wifi (password is joinlsc) - the service was good with different servers covering for each other when water ran low or something was missing on the table. - rebel IPA on tap. - seating on the patio facing the ocean. - the food was very tasty. The crab-stuffed mushrooms is made with real crab meat and the jambalaya was freshly made, spicy, and had a generous percentage of meat and shrimp in it. Things that distracted from their greatness was the poor cellphone coverage. However that is hard to blame on the business.

Always a fun time here. The drinks include a souvenir cup so don't feel to intimidated by the price. Whenever I've gone they have fun entertainment pertaining to Forest Gump so it's a good place for big groups.

We ate here while on vacation and the food was not good ate all, I had the Maui fish and it was not good no season just plain and nasty! Then the waiter forgot to bring our appetizer, and never came back to pick up the check, it's a good thing we are good and honest people!!!

Because it was busy I will assume that's why the service was slow. usually it's pretty fast. I had a great time. Every time I go I always get the Jenny's Catch in lobster butter sauce. mmm mmm good. I loved flats night and thanks to Bubbas for making that happen

I can truly say that I am a fan! The entire staff was friendly and bubbly! I sat down and I didn't even get comfortable and someone was already at the table ready to wait on us. I knew what I wanted beforehand so I ordered the Shrimper's Net Catch for an appetizer. While we waited on our food, our server wanted to see how we did when it came to answering a few Forrest Gump questions. Out of the 12 he asked us, we got 11. At one point he could not think of any more and we just laughed. Ah ha....he had a back up plan. He had another guy that brought our appetizer to ask questions as well. We were knocking out questions left and right. it was too funny. I decided to turn the tables and ask them questions.....we had so much fun that the other waiters and waitresses came over. Sadly everyone had to get back to work but hey that was fun while it lasted. My bf and I didn't realize that we had seen the movie that much. In my opinion its a classic that I don't mind watching over and over again. Yum-oh @ Shrimper's Net Catch! These delectable things were flavorful and then some. I couldn't stop licking the sauce off of my fingers. I suggest getting some bread to sop up the extra sauce that is left over. My bf had the Lt. Dan Drunken Shrimp. It was tasty. The sausage don't taste like anything out of the ordinary. They tasted more like Hillshire Farms smoked sausage just cut into pieces and passed off as andouille. Those are good sausage as well but that wasn't andouille. I, on the other hand had the Bourbon Street Mahi-Mahi. Instead of potatoes, I had rice. The Mahi-Mahi was great and the shrimp were tasty as well. Everything was seasoned very well and I could really "taste" how the seasonings brought out each item. This place is a little on the pricey side. Believe it or not, this Bubba Gump's is cheaper than the one in Orlando. I did a quick menu check online and the prices vary depending on where the restaurant is located. I definitely won't eat at the one in Vegas...I'm a part of the Landry's club so we saved 25 dollars on our meal. I had a great time and when I come back to the beach here, I will be stopping back by to quiz the waiters and waitresses and partake in some tasty shrimp.

I am giving it one star because the burger was decent- or it would get a zero for this location. The SERVICE, especially the girl who sat us, was terrible! Awful. It wasn't crowded- and they were rude, inattentive and very immature. The girl who sat us looked BOTHERED by us because we wanted to be seated outside, our waiter came once, then "had to leave". We asked for some silverware and a plate and the girl never came back so we used our fingers and a napkin as a plate. I have been to Bubba Gump before so I know how it works with the signs on the table to notify a server to approach or keep walking- but the "kids" working there were terrible...texting, talking, laughing with each other. We had to get up and go find someone. Margarita is way over priced and mostly ice. We would NEVER go back. Go to Johnny Rocket's instead!

Mediocre chain restaurant. It is what it is, and the food also shows it. Typical theme restaurant by the beach- so you're getting young servers who are nice and attentive but food that is over cooked, fried to oblivion, super salty and huge sugary drinks. Wish the seafood was better... I mean we're by the beach!

Fabulous food choices and drink specials. Waiter Romeo was simple perfect and delightful. Seating outside with the view was excellent. The Pear and Berry Salad was perfect for such a hot day. The chicken complemented the pears and strawberries with the glazed pecans and feta cheese. The Best on the menu for a delightful meal.

The hush puppies are to die for! A bit on the spendy side, but it is a tourist destination centrally located. I tried Forrest's Seafood Feast...delicious. I also love the Shrimp New Orleans. I also had the cocktail that was being promoted, but I can't remember the name. They used seafood salt on the rim of the cup and it had jalapeños. Shockingly crisp, sweet, with a bite.

Food was great but lousy service. We ordered an appetizer got our meal then server said oh I forgot to put in the order. Brought it as a side when we were almost finished then when she split the bill she charged me only for the side that she forgot. We wanted our drink shacker and was willing to pay extra she didn't even offer it to us.

Food is mediocre. Overpriced food! Small portions! This place is a joke! How dare they use the movie Forrest Gump to lure in tourists! The drinks were way watered down! This was my second vacation down to Daytona Beach, Florida and my second time eating at Bubba Gumps. This will be my LAST TIME eating at Bubba Gumps! Wait was 1 and 1/2 hours. Bad service. Small portions. Watered down drinks. Good luck!

The food was not good. It was way over priced for the quality. It was extra greasy and not well seasoned. I will never go back. Do yourself a favor and go to Mai Tai or Sloppy Joes instead. I had the shrimp po' boy it was too salty and the bread was gross. The spinach dip appetizer was okay. My mom had the forest sampler and it wasn't too great either and costs $20! It is SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Please skip this place. The service was friendly though.

I have always enjoyed this place it's a great location right on the beach. The food is always great along with the service. The bucket of boat trash and the Shrimp are great! You must try the fritters I could eat those every day !

The food is NOT worth the price!!!! Very disappointing! One of the entrées was the shrimp scampi and it look like it sat under the heat lamp a little too long and it look like a childs meal. the cake topper was when I ordered a patron Margarita on the rocks and there was no taste of Patron, just sour mix! Our server took it back to the bartender and came back with it saying that the bartender refused to fix it. my choices were to keep it the way it was or have it taken off my check. So off my check it went...I was not going to pay 11.99 for lemon juice!!! Bubba Gump in Daytona sucks ass!! But on the other hand, our server was gracious and beautiful!

    (1)
  • Dean A.

Food was ok, drinks not so much. Waiter lied to us about free refills for frozen non alcoholic drinks for the kids, end paying extra $7.99 for frozen lemonde. My frozen mia tia was bad, when complain, get replaced and they charge me again. They try hard to rip you off at this location.

  • Cheri P.

Hated it! We took our family to Bubba Gumps figuring it would be fun to go to. The waiter was very nice but after waiting an hour for our food to start showing up, which two of the adults orders where never put in and one of the kids meals never showed. The waiter was very apologetic, kept blaming the kitchen being backed up but when the "manager" finally showed up he had a bad attitude saying that we were only missing two meals and he would fix the bill and left. After sending the bill back twice due to incorrect billing we left 2 1/2 hours later 3 of us hungry and all of us vowing we would never go to another Bubba Gumps again! :(

  • Prof J.

For someone who doesn't like shrimp, I actually thought this place wasn't so bad. There's a reason why this place has been around for so long. The service was good... our server was courteous and he gave us the pop quiz on Forrest Gump (surprised i knew most of the answers). I do like the who stop running/run forrest run sign which allows the servers to stop at your table for immediate service. Our server also gave us a nice introduction to the menu - he got a well-deserved tip. as far as the food, i had the Dixie Fishwich with fries - delicious and filling. and also the stuffed crab mushrooms - which i highly recommend. Some drinks were pricey. The playlist was nice and we sat outside with no hassle. The only reason i can't give this higher than a three is because the non-shrimp selection is very limited. However, if you're a shrimp-maniac, this is definitely the place you need to go.
